Import the Fluent access scope into Epicor
The Fluent access scope limits your Fluent integration user to the Epicor services and methods your agents call. To set it up, download one scope that covers every Fluent tool your agents use, import it in Access Scope Maintenance, then assign it to the integration user and its API key.
Before you start, you need:
Access to Access Scope Maintenance, User Account Maintenance, and API Key Maintenance in Epicor.
The Fluent integration user and API key. If you haven't created them yet, follow How to connect your Epicor Kinetic to Fluent.
The list of Fluent agents you use or plan to use, for example AP Invoices and Order Entry.
Download the access scope
One integration user holds one access scope, so the file you download must cover every tool that user works for. The page lists Fluent's tools by what they draft, such as Draft AP Invoice / Debit Memo for the AP Invoices agent or Draft Sales Order for Order Entry. When you select several, the page combines them into a single scope.
Go to Epicor Security Requirements.
Select every tool your agents use. Each one you select stays highlighted, and the service list below shows the combined set.
Click Download Access Scope. You get one
.easfile.
Select all of your tools before you download. A scope built for one tool blocks the Epicor calls the others make, and their documents fail with permission errors.
Import it into Epicor
In Epicor, open Access Scope Maintenance.
From the overflow menu at the top right, choose Import Access Scope.
In Access Scope Export File, choose the
.easfile you downloaded. If you are replacing a scope you imported before, select Override Existing Scope.
Click Import and check the Import Log for errors.
The imported scope's ID starts with FLUENT_. Leave New Scope ID (optional) blank to keep it.
Assign the scope to the integration user and API key
In User Account Maintenance, open the Fluent integration user. In the Security section, set Access Scope to the new scope and save. Confirm the warning: the user becomes an integration account whose password does not expire.
In API Key Maintenance, open the API key Fluent uses, set Access Scope to the same scope, and save.
Add an agent later
When you start using another agent, download a new scope with all of your tools selected, the existing ones and the new one. The scope ID depends on which tools you select, so this import creates a new scope rather than changing the old one.
Download and import the new scope as described above.
Assign the new scope to the integration user and the API key.
Once Fluent works with the new scope, you can delete the old one in Access Scope Maintenance.
When we tell you a tool needs new permissions, download the same selection again and import it with Override Existing Scope selected. Without that option, Epicor adds to the existing scope and keeps methods that are no longer needed.
